Today wayne doing very well rich how are you i’m doing extremely well great to have you here today congratulations on your new ipo this week thanks very much actually it was last week well yeah it seems like just yesterday but uh time’s flying and uh we’ve discussed the importance of pharmacies in your growth plans could you please explain the significance
Of your agreement with pharma choice sure yeah the agreement that we signed with farmer choice is a is a very important deal to pathway health um and it’s the largest agreement of this type ever finalized that i’m aware of uh pharma choice has over 900 locations under various brands right across the country so this agreement gives us tremendous reach yeah
And exposure the first part of the agreement involves educating and training pharmacists on cannabis statistics canada just reported that at the end of 2020 almost 6.2 million people uh aged 15 or older or 20 of canadians in that age group reported having used cannabis in the last three months that means approximately one out of every five people who go to
The back counter of a pharmacy are using some form of cannabis wow yeah i you know i believe that pharmacists uh have to be aware of this and um and they have to have accredited training so that they’re comfortable talking to their customers about cannabis and how they may be using it now ontario was the only proven to actually mandate professional accredited
Um continuing education in cannabis for pharmacists but we believe that all pharmacists right across canada should have a working knowledge of cannabis especially given that millions of canadians are using it so as the first part of our agreement with pharma choice we’re making our bilingual and accredited pharmacists education modules available to all their
Pharmacists right across canada wherever they’re uh wherever they have locations now there is another part to this agreement uh but the first step is to give all their pharmacists the training and education that they need that’s great now it seems that pharma choice has chosen to partner with pathway health because of your expertise in the area but they seem
Committed to rolling out your medical cannabis management system across their 900 plus pharmacies can you tell us briefly about the system yeah sure briefly our medical cannabis management system or mcms allows for a pharmacist to answer uh basically there are sorry basic and and eventually in-depth questions regarding medical cannabis um to screen the patient
Uh provide a meds review um and then make an assessment for suitability if a patient wants to look further into the possibilities the assessment and intake form can be forwarded to our offices where we would further assess for um suitability and if applicable help the patient obtain a medical document which is basically a prescription for medical purposes
Um and it would be through their own physician if possible and then help them in placing that document at the health canada licensed seller of their choice uh if they want where they can get their prescription filled so we plan to provide continued oversight as well um let’s keep the primary physician and the originating pharmacist directly in the circle of
Care because they obviously take care are sorry to take active roles in the continued care of the patient when are you guys planning to begin rolling out the mcms out across pharma choice network well we’ve actually started rolling the program out already great yeah now that we’re approaching the tail end of pharmacies acting as covid vaccine clinics which
Has really been the focus for months now we’ll start by rolling out mcms in about 260 locations in ontario wow fight hats a lot following that um bill the plan is to then roll up to the balance of the 900 plus locations over the second half of this year but really is as soon as possible now there’s no mention of exclusivity so does this agreement exclude you
From similar agreements with other operators you know i think the true goal of all pharmacies across canada regardless of the banner hanging out front is this patient outcome and patient health so this is not an exclusive agreement where we can’t work with other pharmacies um in fact just the opposite we we already have several banners under contract and we
Are in late stage discussions with several other uh large brand name pharmacy chains that we hope to announce soon this is all about helping each pharmacy offer the best service and education possible offering increased value and really retaining their customers as well that’s great you’ve also mentioned cannabis 3.0 and otc cannabis health products in some
Of your recent conversations how do the pharmacies fit in with your plans for otc products yeah that’s a great question because we believe pharmacies can play a really important role in our future plans around otc cannabis health products um i may have mentioned earlier but we believe the next round of changes to the federal cannabis act which could be as
Early as this fall and it’s being referred to as cannabis 3.0 it’s going to include a focus on medical products now as part of these changes we strongly believe that because nobody really knows but we strongly believe that cannabis health products and i’m primarily talking about health products that include cbd and cbg and other cannabinoid derivatives are
Going to be made available to consumers through retail pharmacy and grocery pharmacy stores this is going to be a brand new consumer package goods category one that the vast majority of pharmacies have no experience with yet and i mentioned earlier about the uh the percentage of canadians who currently use some form of cannabis product but we believe that for
Every one patient that goes to the back counter of a pharmacy to ask about medical cannabis there are so many more who will be looking to buy products that they currently purchase but are not being offered with cbd for example um and that’s not to mention entirely new product categories that we’re going to see so we’re currently in discussions with as i said
Several of the major pharmacy companies in canada about working uh directly alongside them to develop these products for their stores and a significant number of pharmacy companies are trusting us for education for their pharmacists on cannabis and we are working together to provide their customers access to medical cannabis care where it’s appropriate so
Um it only makes sense for them to expand the relationship to include developing these products for their locations we see this as a huge opportunity for pathway health it’s been an exciting week or so since you guys launched your ipo on the toronto stock venture exchange this month here in june so far the price is down slightly and the volume has been low
What do you think are the reasons for this well as your viewers may know um you know we did just start training a weaker uh or so ago the early journey is really about getting exposure for the story um being noticed and put on watch list by investors who see our plan and to share our vision the telehealth sector and small cap stocks in general have all come
Off their peaks so it it may be that we’re experiencing the impact of this uh the story is new and it may take time to get the story out but we believe that we’re able to execute on all our business plan uh the trading volume should increase and as we execute on our plans we hope to be able to share uh more positive news um in the near future we’ve just
Gone through some of the key updates is there anything you want to deliver any messages you want to deliver to potential shareholders that are looking at pathway health as a potential investment you know that’s a great question and we were asked that question recently as well too um you know obviously we’re in the industry and we’re uh we feel that we’re
We’re in touch with what’s what’s coming with cannabis 3.0 people the investors can do their own reading but um it’s having investors ask themselves that when these changes come when cannabis health products are available or if they are made available through pharmacy locations right across canada so you go into the pharmacy and you can buy cbd pretty much
Anything who’s going to benefit from that i mean where are the companies that are actually going to benefit from that and at this point we are the largest partner with canadian pharmacy companies and as i mentioned we are hoping to work with several of them to help them develop these products to possibly even co-own the brand so we uh i believe we stand
To be one of the major beneficiaries of this fundamental change to to this new consumer package goods category so that’s the one thing i would just say you know who’s going to benefit and i think that we’re going to be a big beneficiary super excited to see you guys evolve and grow one of our mandates here rich tv live is to identify early stage undervalued
