Good day subscribers thank you so much for joining me today i am jeremy this is the financial education channel and today we are talking about moving out of your parents house i’m gonna give you step by step how i did it personally and how in my opinion you should do it because this will set you on a very good way into becoming an adult and living your life now
In moving out i’m talking about moving out to like an apartment or a house or something like that not like going to stay at a dorm at a college or something like that i don’t really count that as moving out technically i count that as going to college so this is moving out like you’re not in a dorm you’re not in your parents house you’re moving out so i’m gonna
Take you through that whole process so the first thing you need before you move out of your parents house is you need a consistent decent paying job doesn’t have to pay all the money in the world but it needs to be decent paying and it needs to be consistent it can’t be something like oh you make you know three thousand four thousand dollars this month and the
Next month you only make a thousand it needs to be a consistent job where the money’s coming in so you don’t have to worry about it and old man might not be able to pay my bills all those kinds of things step number two you need to save a minimum in my opinion is around seven eight thousand dollars that’s what i saved before i moved out i got a nice one-bedroom
Apartment that i signed up for it was $750 a month so i knew even after all my expenses on things i bought for that apartment which is step number three you gotta buy stuff for the apartment i knew that i still had plenty of money left over plus i had plenty of money coming in because i had a consistent good paying job so you want to not spend a crazy amount on
Your apartment or home you get right off the bat you’re moving out so get simple stuff in my opinion and step number three get you know furniture from walmart ikea places like that that’s what i did i was able to get everything i needed from my one-bedroom about 750 square foot apartment i was able to get it all for i think it was around fifteen hundred bucks so
I had almost eight thousand saved fifteen hundred bucks off that i still had sixty-five hundred in the bank and i had more money coming in than what my bills were so i was in a very good financial position so even if somehow i lost my job or something i could still live there for months and be able to pay my bills and my car was paid off i just drove a piece of
Junk like $3,000 on de elantra that was like ten years used at that time which is what you should be driving at 20 21 years old which is what i was when i moved out of my parents house so it all starts with the planning and the planning is well that would be like step number zero you need to plan for this in advanced it can’t just be like a snap thing like oh i’m
Out of here i’m moving out i know sometimes that happens but it cannot happen try to make it not happen you need to plan this stuff in advance at least six months in advance if not eight or nine months in advance personally i think i did about six or seven months and advanced i planned you know okay i’m gonna move out i really need to save money save money save
Money and that’s exactly what i did and i figured out expenses and i started looking even months before i moved out i started looking at couches tables things like that what’s the nicest thing i can get but for the least amount of money i could possibly pay and i bought like this couch it also fold out into a futon just in case somebody stayed over for the night
They would have somewhere to sleep because it’s only one bedroom right and they’re not sleeping in my bed so it was a really smart thing i got a couch and it wasn’t the most comfortable thing in the world but i got the job done i’m just like 200 bucks from walmart folded out into a futon and there we go and i got a you know a decent glass top table it was like 150
170 bucks also from walmart i guess some ikea bed i believe i was hundred and seventy nine hundred ninety nine bucks i got a foam mattress from walmart that was like 50 bucks so i saved a lot of money and like i said i had a flat-screen tv and i had a police station and things like that and it was a decent lifestyle for when you’re moving out the apartment was nice
It was in a decent area and whatnot so that’s the whole goal now you could say hold what about if you’re moving in with somebody you’re gonna room with someone roommate in my opinion that’s not the way to go getting a roommate and those kinds of things i think it sets you further behind the ball into becoming an adult into getting in the real world it can be fun
Oh yeah my best friend we’re gonna have him my girlfriend and you know this chicken that whoever they’re all gonna be my roommates in my opinion don’t go that way or rooming with brothers and sisters those kinds of things no try to go out on your own in my humble opinion that’s what you should do go out on your own because that will force you to be an adult will
Force you to save money now of course you say okay it’s all on me it’s all on me that will take you to that next level of adulthood and get you moving in your life it i’ve seen so many people that just room with people and their bills are super cheap that way because they only pay like $200 or $300 rent because they get you know they all stay in a four-bedroom
House or whatever and then let’s say the rent on that house is twelve hundred the mortgage is twelve hundred or whatever they’ll split is like three hundred bucks is super cheap and what people end up doing is they don’t want to advance their lives that much because they’re like oh i’m already making way more than i need to make and then you don’t really save
Money because they’re like oh i can just spend money so they start spending money like crazy so in my opinion that’s why i’m sorry i don’t know who’s calling right now who thinks it’s appropriate to call the middle video it’s my question anyways this is a video today guys on how i moved out and i think this if you plan it this way you will have a very successful
Move out and that will push you into your adult life and you will have a lot more success that way because you’ll know it’s all on you in that you need to succeed you need to save money you need to try to find a better job if you’re not already in a great job those kinds of things i think you so much for watching guys today if you haven’t subscribed you may wonder
What type of talk about personal finance like we did today talking about the stock market and investments investments i’m making things like that i talked about entrepreneurship i’m a young business owner i like to give tips to other young business owners so you know what guys have a great day
