This is a retelling of something that happened to be right before the pandemic. Was it Asian hate or was it just a random assault? I cant tell for sure but I am retelling this story to bring awareness to the issue. Also, I am recommending a few defensive measures to help prevent this in the future.

Guys i actually decided to never talk about it because you know it wasn’t that big a deal but now that there’s this giant wave of asian hate crimes um i want to kind of bring it out to the open and just discuss a little bit about it because i did experience this so what happened was i was on my way to san francisco and i was taking the bart i was sort of logging
It so then i brought my camera with me and i thought you know i don’t want to stand in front of everybody to record so i went to one of the last one or two carts of the bar where there’s not many people and i was recording myself and then when the train came in i went in and another person african american person and his girlfriend or some girl or something it
Looks like they were in some kind of fight or something the guy went into one of the carts the girl i think she also was uh went into the car as well i don’t really remember and the guy went through the double doors and i was i held my camera on my left arm and then he was gonna pass me i didn’t think i was in danger or anything all of a sudden he checks me
Right in the chest on my right side and i just got kind of like knocked back a little bit now this didn’t hurt really it was just kind of like boom you know like someone bumped you really hard they like they’re running at like three four miles an hour or something and they just kind of ran into you and i wasn’t even knocked uh the wind wasn’t even knocked out of
Me or anything it was just really really rude right it’s like someone just kind of shoved you like this this is very similar to you know what you see today and if i was like a really old person yeah maybe i would fall down and hit my head or something but you know he continued walking and i was just kind of confused a little bit and then i look back and i can see
That he’s like walking out of the train car he entered and then walked right back out so he was still in the same station i did my quick mental calculation i figured well i’m not hurt i don’t even feel hurt it was just really really rude and annoying i have expensive equipment with me so if i were to do some kind of you know revenge or something or go after him
Um i felt like i would have risked um a major amount of money because i have expensive equipment with me so i decided to well you know i’m on my way somewhere i’m kind of in a hurry so um i just kind of let it go because the doors were quickly closing and i decided well you know i’m not going to go after him and this is this is a crime this is like a assault
Crime that i never reported to the bart station i i don’t know maybe they would have taken some security footage or something i was thinking on my way back i would do that but i never did that but i did learn a valuable lesson from this which is to not go towards the end of the bart station because that’s where crimes could happen more and there’s gonna be not
As many people around you to you know say something or do something the current wave of crimes just today this morning there’s this man outside a hotel usually in new york city it’s a pretty densely populated area and you know you got all these asian people walking around they say a 65 year old woman just it looks like this woman and this man they had no prior
Kind of argument or anything this woman just was was walking around and this uh man just comes right up without any warning just goes and and kicks her kind of like what happened to me you know with no warning at all they just like to prey on people that is not expecting it so that they can you know get in their punch get in their kicks or something get in their
Their um kind of like tackle and then the surprising thing is he goes and lets out on her and kicks her uh three more additional times in the head which is pretty crazy you gotta be pretty angry with life in general in order to do this and the asian hate crime reported yesterday here it is a picture of that it’s hard to say what happened before this is there some
Sort of argument going on maybe this person you know no one knows right but what i can sort of tell from the imagery is that the person the asian person had a white shopping bag before you know the exchange of punches and then afterwards a black man walked out with the white shopping bag so this could be you know this man wanted to steal whatever goods they
Have in the shopping bag and this shopping bag you know it’s like a nice proper one i can’t really tell what kind of brand it is but you know something of value that’s in it be it you know 30 dollars be it maybe a name brand thing if you’re carrying something of value this is probably not a good idea to carry um uh expensive goods or something of value with you
Anywhere especially if you’re in new york or or or anywhere else so here’s my recommendation for all asian people going forward i think asian people need to arm themselves i personally have been arming myself the past few times i’ve been going out because i feel like the danger is a little higher i at least need some kind of protection being a not well-built asian
Person as many asians are not super well built you need some kind of leverage you know so i just bring a knife let me go get the knife i’ve been bringing around i just have a kitchen knife over here this is an ikea knife and i just kind of wrap it around this little paper bag and i just shoved it into my pants not these jeans right i was just walking around with
My sweats so i just kind of put this in my pocket just just in case i don’t plan to use it but you know if i am in some sort of life danger i would take this out and try to defend myself this is all in defense i’m not like attacking anybody or or anything right defense only and i would say i’m i’m kind of looking to get even pepper spray and if you look at
The first incident with a 65 year old lady she was just minding her own business and perhaps the way to prevent things is that you need to be like 100 aware of your surroundings who is coming near you you just got to be very very alert and you know just not walk in areas where it’s less populated so that you know there’s no people around most of these incidents
Seems to happen when they are alone i know it’s probably really difficult to just never do things alone anymore but you know if you want extra safety you probably want to go with a friend go with a sibling if your parents are going somewhere well you just go in pairs it’s like a buddy system if you have two people the likelihood that you’re gonna get attacked
Goes down dramatically because all these videos i’ve seen they’re always alone and let me demonstrate if i were pushed in a corner and i had this knife with me let me show you guys what you know i’m made of i’m gonna put my laptop a little further away so i won’t you know damage my laptop let’s say i just got punched and you know i’m down on the ground like oh
God you know i gotta brace myself right keep them from like kicking me in the head and then i reach into my pocket grab the knife and i’m down here and i go you know that might defend myself right you know maybe they’re gonna go away from this right if you got something like this it’s probably not a good idea to hold something because there’s no sleeve right
You might want a switchblade you might want a knife that kind of folds out i actually have this smith and wesson one that’s about five six inches long this is probably something i would be carrying going forward at all times maybe i might even carry a pepper spray you know carry two defensive items here you see on twitter stop asian hate and i feel like bringing
Awareness to this does not necessarily reduce the asian hate i think the way to reduce it is all asian people need to carry some sort of defensive item it’s kind of like if you know the person that you’re going to attack has a high probability that they have some sort of defensive weapon well it’s kind of like you don’t want to attack a porcupine right it’s
It’s going to get kind of spiny and you’re going to hurt yourself some people might not be sort of pro gun i personally have lethal defensive items so you know if there is some sort of home break-in i will defend myself you just got to think of this sort of like insurance yes it’s annoying that you have to bring another item stick it in your pocket but this is
The time right now i think if there is a news item where an asian person is defending themselves they get attacked and they’re successfully able to do this i think maybe the you know asian hate crimes is gonna die down a little bit and i don’t see it any other way this has to be taken into the hands of you yourself oftentimes when these things happen i want to
Know the psychology behind it why are people attacking asians it points to trump calling it china virus so you know you equate china with chinese people or maybe asian people anybody with black hair there have been talks about movies like crazy rich asians would kind of cast asian people in like a really rich kind of environment and then so like a kind of hate
Probably develops around that and also during this pandemic mostly blue-collar jobs are kind of being destroyed and so perhaps these people that are you know committing these crimes are kind of pushing the corner when your financial status is you know really really down in the hole you got nothing to live for you gotta vent that hate on someone and you know you’re
Gonna vent it on the most likely person that you think is responsible so what do you think of this it’s like oh i’m in the pandemic i lost my job because of the pandemic what caused the pandemic maybe it’s the china virus so that it’s from china or something so then you know it’s just to not not extremely logical but sometimes when you’re in a furry you just have
To let it out on someone and you’re gonna let it out on the sheep right you’re not gonna let it out on a porcupine because you’re gonna hurt yourself or you know if you’re punching something are you gonna punch a brick wall or are you gonna punch something a little bit softer like a pillow or like some soft wooden wall so i think there is probably a stereotype
And it’s probably partially true that asian people maybe they don’t fight back especially old asian ladies right they have no ability to fight back old people have no ability to fight back so you know if you carry mace then you know perhaps you can at least you know spray a little bit be a little bit more aware old people are a little bit slower so then they
Can’t you know just kind of be ultra aware of their surroundings and kind of react when something happens to them so um in that case you need the buddy system go out with two people when you go out don’t go to the end of the cars where there’s no one there you need to hang around where it’s more densely populated don’t go out at night then i think your chances
