Cashier scams are a class of scams that involves a set of transactions that are meant to confuse the buyer. The scam often happens in a cash transaction where the buyer and the unscrupulous cashier does a transaction. With the unsuspecting buyer, the cashier will guide the buying through some slight of hand transaction that appears correct on the surface but really isn’t when you look the end result.
How’s it going everybody this is beat the bush today we’re going to talk about cashier scams in hopes that if you know about it then he’ll be harder for you to get fooled once upon a time i was at a place called the comedy store in la i was with a friend and a cashier scam was actually pulled on me when i went to sit down i thought the transaction was kind of
Fishy so i kind of thought about it for a while and finally realized that i had a scam hold on me i went back right away and asked for my refund and it appears the cashier there kind of knew that they did this on me he immediately gave back the refund because i’m thinking that if i realized that i knew he refused i might make a big fuss and actually you can go to
Jail for these kind of things and so at the time i didn’t really want to make a big deal out of it but i should have those things get pulled on people all the time and they really shouldn’t be out there pulling scams on everybody that they can so i was at the laugh factory and this is the cashier side and me and my friend we both come in to the store and we both
Kind of expected to pay for each other so the prices for each ticket was $20 and so i had $40 here and my friend had a hundred and so we both expected to pay $40 we happen to simultaneously put the money there thinking okay we’re going to each pay and so the cashier side suddenly looks kind of confused but they know they were what they’re doing they kind of go oh
This guy which is me expects to pay 40 they’ll take the 40 from me take another 20 here because this person my friend expects to pay $40 and they expect to get $60 back so they take the $60 give it to this person and put that back so this person gets $60 and give us the two tickets we go oh yeah we’re both happy so we take the two tickets and then we leave but what
Happened here if you add up the money that went in its $140 we should have had $100 come back out if it was correct so we just got conned $40 here what and our generosities was taken advantage of here because i expected to pay for t my friend expected to pay for t and it’s expected but we didn’t expect that we both pay for t it was one or the other but when we take
Our money away we were both happy if we didn’t converse with each other because we both were down $40 and we kind of feel like oh yeah okay it’s okay because we’ve each paid $40 but it’s not okay because we both paid $40 a way to avoid these kind of crazy scams and there’s a lot of these kinds of scams is you don’t pay both at the same time you line up behind each
Other and you do one transaction at a time do not ever go simultaneous do one transaction i go all $40 here give me two tickets then they have then they can’t go oh oh what does your friend want right maybe they might do that i don’t know but if you do it one at a time $40 it means you get two tickets it’ll be very hard for them to take you’re 40 and just give you
One ticket because you know the price of the ticket is 20 so what i did was my friend had $40 and we each i had tickets we sat down i was like holy crap were down some money i went back and said hey that transaction you know something there’s something weird i didn’t get paid i forgot what i said and they immediately gave me the $40 i get i get to keep the 20 and
20 i gave to my friends so then the the transaction is correct now so i was lucky and that i realized that there was a cashier scam pulled on me you got realized cashier scam can come in all forms and shapes it doesn’t really have to go exactly the way i presented but the easiest way to avoid this kind of scam is to do one transaction at a time when you buy tickets
Don’t like group 5 people together don’t group two people like i did and you should be able to easily detect cashing your scam but just be aware there’s stuff like this that could happen and you can avoid something like that so i hope you learned something from this video and know that there are such things out there and such people that would try to con you out
